Late summer/fall is my busiest time of year as a photographer. The light and colors are beautiful and the weather is typically pretty good. I photograph a lot of family and senior portrait sessions. I have been busier than usual with senior portraits in part because my son is graduating this year and I am photographing a lot of his classmates. These are kids that I have know most of their lives. It makes their sessions so special.
This is Sami. I have known her since she was a toddler. She and my son have gone to school together since kindergarten. They were such sweet friends and have a lot memories together. Her mama is very dear to me. The expression “it takes a village” is so true. Her mama was in my village of mamas. We supported each other through all the ups and downs of raising our kids. And while we don’t see each other as much as we used to, we still support each other during this phase of parenting.
We had Sami’s senior portrait session at Mt. Pisgah on a warm, summer evening. The weather was perfect, not too hot, just right and you really can’t beat Mt. Pisgah in my opinion. The grove of oak trees, the area near the river, and that beautiful, golden summer light… make for a perfect backdrop for photo sessions. Sami is a natural beauty and very comfortable in front of the camera. The camera loves her! She made my job easy and is even more beautiful on the inside. I encouraged her mama and sisters to get in a few photos. Because as we know this time goes so fast and is so important to document.
I can’t wait to see what Sami’s future holds. Besides the fact that she is an amazing young woman, she radiates kindness and love and I know is going to do great things! The world is lucky to have her in it! Thank you for a beautiful senior portrait session.
